Bert is one of many Espacios in the Dataverse. They suffer from a mental condition known as "Minechosis".
Lore[]
Bert is an older Espacio miner unit who’s been one of the more loyal to the Espacio collective and is a big lover of the Espacio Mining arcade machine game, spending too much time in the mines and developing early stages of Minechosis as a result. One day, they got captured by Viruses and forced into far more extensive work, which accelerated their Minechosis rapidly. Eventually, they were rescued by a stranger group of Espacios who weren’t as fun, but still better than the Viruses in every way. As a result of their Minechosis and forced labor, Bert is a very serious and broken Espacio who has visions of Espacio Mining's fictional materials and monsters engrained into his mind.

- Bert was first shown in the Obsercorp Discord server by DuncanDunclub on March 21, 2021.
- According to DuncanDunclub, Minechosis is a condition usually developed by overworked Espacios. It is currently unknown just what this condition is, but what we do know is that it causes hallucinations relating to traumatic events or random objects, which can only be dispelled by raw @@ energy.
- Unlike other Espacios, Bert is too traumatized by Minechosis to act silly on the regular.
- Bert also appeared in an RP comic, which was one of the first mentions of Bert's current lore, albeit a brief one.
- Bert is featured in Databrawl Roleplay as accessories for Espacio, specifically the "Head Bandages", "Shoulder Bandages", and "Minechosis Treatment" accessories.
- Minechosis' name is a portmanteau of "mine" and "psychosis." Psychosis is a similar mental illness that Minechosis seems to be based on.
