This page contains many lore elements that are not considered part of the new, official lore. It's very unlikely that it will still be considered canon for new lore, but will maintain relevance in old lore.
Creks are a type of creature in the Dataverse. Described as an "alternative to the cache chicken", they are another source of cache in the dataverse, similar to Cache Cows
Lore[]
As described in their reference sheet, Creks are found vary rarely in computers, and serve as an alternative to the cache chicken.
Creks possess a translucent body with waterballoon-like consistency and an equally soft exterior, similar to a Glass Frog. They are radially symmetrical with three stubby legs and nine eyes which all face away from the central egg sac. They're passive creatures which seem to lack the intelligence of Programs or other creatures. They completely lack a sense of self-preservation, looking for food even after being injured or mutilated. They have no forms of defense other than safety in numbers, which is where its egg laying capabilities are taken advantage of.
Despite resembling gigantic fish eggs, they taste and feel identical to their normal counterparts. Creks are known to traverse nearly any environment, but prefer those with coolant ponds or other liquids where they can absorb nutrients, and can scale vertical structures much like Cache Cows. Unlike them, however, they can also rest upside down. They make various squeaks and clicks to communicate when they discover food or to announce their egg laying in progress.
