Ghostball was the first multipartite virus discovered. The virus was discovered in October 1989. It infected both executable .COM-files and boot sectors.

Real World Counterpart

In the real world, Ghostball, or Ghostballs, was the first multipartite virus, meaning that it attacks a system's executable files and boot sector simultaneously. It infects .com files, searching for another .com file after the infected file is ran. It then tries to drop a copy of the Ping Pong virus into the boot sector. Notably, it is actually a variant of another virus called Vienna.

Weapons/Abilities

Ghostball Spook - Ghostballs have the ability to do a move called "Ghostball Spook", which causes them to make a bird-like noise.

Nybble Fists - Ghostballs have the ability to defend themselves by punching with their "Nybble Fists".

Blink - Lorewise (not in-game), Ghostballs have the ability to blink, which is when they move in a direction extremely quickly. Ghostballs can blink through solid objects. When viewed by other entities, it appears that a blinking Ghostball is teleporting due to the extreme speed of the movement. Additionally, the "teleporting" motion often has a glitchy and/or strange appearance to it. Due to the fact that a blinking Ghostball is actually moving extremely fast rather than teleporting, they leave a trail of purple, phantom-like fire behind when blinking. This fire lingers around for a few seconds after being produced.

More Facts

• Ghostballs cry tears that, if consumed, can cause the one who consumed the tears to temporarily have distorted visuals.
• The design of Ghostballs has changed a few times during the character's existence, with one of the earliest designs being dramatically different from the current design. When the very early design was created, Zeilao stated,"I'm just free drawing I guess", indicating that the concept was created while they were drawing freely.
