Guardians are benevolent entities created to protect individual Programs and other good software. Unlike Firewalls, they do not actively hunt for enemies, and simply guard their designated individual when said individual gets threatened.

Lore[]

In lore, Guardians start out as Guardian Whelps. When Guardian Whelps are trained and given a designated individual to protect, they can be upgraded into a more specialized role, such as a standard Guardian.

Weapons/Abilities[]

Quick Fists - Guardians have the ability to punch using their "Quick Fists".

Additionally, according to some concept art drawn by Paravoina, Guardians have the ability to extend their claws outward, either to grab things or attack enemies (not reflected in-game).

Guardian Whelps are freshly formed Guardians. They are benevolent entities created to protect individual Programs and other good software.

Unlike Firewalls, they do not actively hunt for enemies, and simply guard their designated individual when said individual gets threatened.

Whelps can be affected by training and by their designated individual, and ultimately, upgraded into a more specialized role. For example, according to paravoina, the creator of the Guardian characters,"a Whelp who was given a reclusive Program that doesn't like social interaction [to protect] is more likely to become a Shadow [Guardian] than anything...".

More Facts[]

  • In lore, Guardians cannot be corrupted by Corruptions through normal means. If a Corruption attempts to corrupt a Guardian, the Guardian will become sick and spontaneously explode, resulting its heart melting, and ultimately, resulting in its death. In order for a Guardian to be Corruption-designated, it must be made as a Corruption Guardian from the get-go.
  • In lore, most Guardians are somewhat self-righteous. The majority of them are also quite the worriers about the individuals they are designated to protect.
  • Rarely, a Guardian can be apathetic about the individual they were designated to protect. These apathetic Guardians typically hide their apathy, as their fellow Guardians would see them as anomalies (or, worse, something akin to a Corruption) and destroy them upon discovering their lack of care.
  • In lore, most Guardians use female pronouns for themselves, however, there can be exceptions.
  • Guardians are designed to have mouths so that they can communicate more easily with the entity that they are designated to protect. For example, if a Guardian was in a situation where the entity they're supposed to be protecting can't hear them, the entity would still be able to read the Guardian's mouth movements and figure out what they're saying.
  • Guardians had their current models put ingame on July 26, 2022.
    • On July 14, 2022, Guardian's current model was accidentally released early in a somewhat unfinished state. This was quickly reversed once the developers found out.
