Knives are a type of weapon in the Dataverse commonly wielded by Corruptions.

There are four different types of Knives seen in-game, the Virus Knife, the Malware Knife, the Default Knife, and the Kitchen Knife (used by Edgygrams). The Virus, Malware, and Kitchen Knives can be seen in both Databrawl and its RP counterpart, where it can be used by their respective sides/characters, while the Default Knife can only be seen in DBRP, where it can be obtained through getting the Toy Weapons from the Toy Machine.

In addition to the knives seen in-game, there are also knives not seen in-game, such as the Program knives and Musclegram Machetes.

In Battle Mode, Knives have a special move known as "Wounding Strike". This move is performed by equipping the Knife and pressing Q when an onscreen meter is filled. When performed, the knife will begin to glow, giving the wielder a 0.25 speed boost. The player's next attack will do 36-38 damage and apply a "wounded" debuff that prevents its victim from healing. If a player goes six seconds without attacking, the speed boost and glow will run out on its own.

Pros & Cons[]

Pros Cons
  • Fast attack cooldown
  • Lower damage than other weapons

More Facts[]

  • Originally, knives couldn't be thrown. This was changed around late-2018 so that they could be thrown through pressing the "E" key, turning them into hybrid weapons (a now removed weapon type) similarly to how Hatchets and Chakrams originally were. In early-2020, Knives were changed to plain melee weapons (like how they initially were) so that they could no longer be thrown.
  • Before Virus weapons got their own unique models, Virus Knives used the same model as Malware Knives.
