The tool that Marburg uses is called "Error Spray", which is a spray can that sprays red "X" symbols.
Real World Counterpart[]
In real life, Marburg is a file virus known for accidentally being released in commercial software. It is named after a deadly human virus first discovered in Germany. When Marburg is executed, it is decrypted and searches for .scr and .exe files. In some files, Marburg overwrites the code with a block or polymorphic code, though this depends on the file's structure. It sometimes appends itself to the last section of the file. Most notably, Marburg will cause the Windows error icon, a red circle with a white X, to appear all over the computer's screen. To see Marburg in action, click here.
