Mines are a one-time use weapon, and this is because of their power. They are used by Corruptions.
Once thrown, Mines will fly out in the direction the player threw them, and then explode four seconds later. When they explode, they will create a massive explosion that deals huge chunks of damage to enemies based on how close they are to the explosion, and flings anyone affected from the explosion, including the thrower and their team. As of 2021, Mines can now damage the thrower.
The explosion created by a Mine is seen as a visually flashy display of shock waves and particles, which has a blast radius of 40 studs and deals up to an astonishing 225 damage, which means CIH, Happy99, Bodiers, Hardware, Firewall Sentry and Bloatware are the only characters in Databrawl who can survive a direct hit from a Mine while at full health. The amount of damage a Mine blast deals depends on how close the target is to the blast, with damage becoming lesser the farther the target is from the center of the blast. The distance players are launched by the blast is also based on how close they are to the center of the blast.
In Databrawl's Battle Zone, Mines can be used only by Standard and Brawler Corruptions, Ransomware, Espacio and Happy99. This is different in Databrawl Roleplay, where you can use any character and throw mines as a temporary weapon that costs 15 robux, and will vanish when you disconnect from the game.
Mine-Jumping[]
Mine-Jumping is a method of transportation in the game that uses mines. Players used to have immunities to mines that they threw themselves and from other teammates, which could be used to fling yourself around the map for transportation. Mine-Jumping was mostly done by throwing mines at angles where they do not go too far from you, or by throwing them to the sky and walking to where they land. This method could also be used by a group of teammates to launch an organized aerial assault, assuming they are standing upright as they land. This was a popular and useful tactic that was used many times.
You could also use it at a means of escape by throwing it beneath you so no enemies can get close to you. Then you would be flung to a hopefully safe location. This, however, did come with risk. Doing so may have flung you into other enemies, get bounced back by a wall to your opponent, or straight into the depths of immediate death.
As of February 21, 2021, mines harm the thrower, albeit for less damage, making players experience heavy difficulty trying to mine-jump.
Duds[]
Mines once had a 1/5 chance of being a dud. Dud Mines had a delayed explosion that could be advantageous or disadvantageous for the thrower. Sometimes the delayed explosion could be advantageous, and other times, it gave a brief moment for the victim to escape. Dud Mines have been removed as of 2021, per request from many players.

- In the alpha/early beta stage of Databrawl's development, Mines could damage everybody regardless of who threw the Mine. This means that originally, players who threw Mines could kill themselves and their own teammates if they did not flee from the blast radius fast enough. Mines also had the capability to teamkill during the April Fools update of 2021.
- Additionally, during this development stage, Mines did not fling players.
- Currently, if a Virus throws a Mine, the Mine will become dark pink and emit triangular particles, and if a Malware throws a Mine, the Mine will become dark blue and emit square particles. However, in alpha/early beta Databrawl, this was not the case. Instead, Mines used to appear exactly the same for both Viruses and Malware. They would always be gray, and they would always emit green square particles when rolling around regardless of who threw the Mine. The appearance of their blast was also different, instead of changing colors to match the team, it would always be a bunch of gigantic green square particles.
- When window-breaking was being tested in the Test Version, all teams were given a Mine upon spawning, including Programs and Firewalls. Program and Firewall Mines both used unique circle particles when rolling around. These circle particles were only placeholders for the window-breaking test, which is why they never can and never will be seen again (unless somebody exploits and gives a Program/Firewall a Mine).
- When Mine team coloration was first implemented, there was a bug where the Hexadecimal editor could affect the color of the Mine. By default, the color of the Mine would match the Corruption team who had thrown it. However, if something like a green Hexadecimal Malware threw a Mine, the Mine would be green instead of the proper team color.
- Originally, Mines did not do damage knockback, so you could be any distance away from the Mine and not get flung.
- Mines used to have a different alarm sound and explosion sound back in 2017 to early 2018. The original alarm sound was an alarm sound from the Half-Life video game series.
- According to one of the old in-game Lore Tips, the Mines were stolen from the game "Minesweeper" by the Corruptions.
- Mines used to give out an 'announcement' in the chat upon explosion, broadcasting the amount of kills from the explosion, reading either "A Mine exploded, and caused (kill number) casualties." or "A Mine exploded, and no one was killed." in purple text. This was ultimately removed around mid-2019 due to providing no real purpose and basically just spamming the chat.
- Mines originally had a simpler design. The design was changed to the current design around January 9, 2020.
- Espacio and Ransomware are currently the only special characters that can wield and throw Mines normally.
- In the 2020 Halloween Update, Mines were redder in color and made a screaming sound when they exploded.
- In the 2020 Christmas Update, Mines were replaced with Jingle Bells.
- At one point, there was a bug with Mines that had caused the Mines to do no damage whatsoever. It was eventually patched.
- Mines originally were capable of doing up to 300 damage depending on how close a target was to the blast and had an 80 stud blast radius. However, as of July 23, 2021, Mines have been nerfed to doing 150 damage and having a blast radius of 56. Currently, mines can do up to 225 damage but have a 40 blast radius.
- In Roleplay version, Mines are free to get for Contributors and above.
- Currently, the Mines has two unobtainable developer variants called; Fart Mine and DB Mine (no known name of the mine), the Fart Mine is well, what it's named of, once it explodes, it will produce brown particles, the DB Mine acts like a regular mine, except both of them flings the player, despite even in Immersive Roleplay. (If considered as a "mine" a third one which is a Nuke, the nuke before deploying, will show a line indicating where it is falling down, once the nuke hits the ground, it will cause a massive explosion that can instantly kill any users, as well as producing grey smoke on impact.)
- In the 2022 Halloween Update, mines have been redesigned to be more Halloween-like. They also have a new mechanic, being that players on the Pumpkrin team can now pick them up. When a Program picks up the mine, it will explode in a blast that will heal any other player on the Pumpkrin and Fructowall Security teams. These mines are called "Treat Mines". When picked up by corruptions, it works like a regular mine and is known as a "Trick Mine".
