MyDoom is a Malware anthro. His mini form is a playable character in Databrawl Roleplay.
Real World Counterpart[]
The real world version of Mydoom is a computer worm and possibly one of the most damaging malware ever to be released. Transmitted through file sharing or email, Mydoom copies itself to the Windows system folder as Taskmon.exe when executed, creating the file Shimgapi.dll in the system folder. This file is a backdoor trojan that can download and execute various arbitrary files. The worm then creates or modifies several registry keys, adding the value "TaskMon = \System Folder\taskmon.exe to two keys, one a Local Machine and the other a Current User registry key. Both of these ensure that the worm will run every time the computer is started. It then ensures Shimgapi.dll will be run by Internet Explorer when the web browser is run.
After this, Mydoom will then search files with various specific extensions for email addresses. The worm then sends itself as an email to said email addresses. The worm also contains strings with which it attempts to randomly generate an email address to send itself to.
Between 2/1/2004 and 2/12/2004, Mydoom tries to perform a DoS attack on SCO's website. It creates 64 threads, which make an HTTP GET request from a random port on the infected computer to port 80 of SCO's website. There is a 25% likelihood that the attack will come from any given infected machine because of the way Mydoom verifies the date.

- His name "Shimgapi Mimail" is derived from two parts of the computer worm, his given name based on the .DLL file the program inserts in the System32 directory of a Windows operating system, and his surname referencing early speculation of the malware being a variant of the Mimail worm.
- The variants of the computer worm are represented in the Dataverse as MyDoom's subordinates, who are referred to as his "Dreadnoughts".
- His splinter faction of Malware are called "Novarg Malware", which are named after an alias of the computer worm.
- Despite being a computer worm, MyDoom is generally a Malware and leads a splinter faction of his origin.
- MyDoom's cyan markings around his body are tattoos, but some of those expose his core as a way to vent excess energy burning inside of his body.
- Mini MyDoom was added to Databrawl Roleplay on August 29, 2021.
- Mini MyDoom was previously a badge-earned character obtained by getting the "The Terror of 2004" badge in a Databrawl fangame called 💜 Databrawl Roleplay +. However, on August 27, 2024, he was moved to Character Pack #3.
