"Penobionos" are an unofficial name for a group of characters added to Databrawl Roleplay on March 24, 2024. These characters are hidden throughout the map and are able to be found by various means.
After a Penobiono is found by a player, the game will display a message similar to the message displayed if a player gets a jackpot on a Slot Machine. This message usually says "[Player] has found [Penobiono]", though variations have been seen on occasion. After a player finds a Penobiono, a brief description and image of the Penobiono will be unlocked in a menu in Settings and More simply titled "List". This menu is hidden from the player until they have found at least one Penobiono.
Below is a list of the currently known Penobionos and how to find them. It is currently unknown if there are more, so the list will be updated whenever a new one is found.

Penobionos that have a random chance of appearing. They may require a method to "find" them, but they will have to appear ingame first for said method to work.

Shapes[]"A sentient group of symbols that inhabit an outdated slot machine. To find them is an exercise of both patience and money." Takes the form of three gray shapes: a circle, a square, and a triangle. They can be found in the File Storage in the Quiet Structure's Storage Structure. Finding them requires spinning the old slot machine, with them having a random chance of appearing instead of the regular symbols. Getting Shapes in the slot machine does not give Bits. Philanthropic[]"A book that occasionally shows up in the library. It tends to take "donations" from people who read it. You probably shouldn't have opened it." Takes the form of a dark red book. They can be found in the Database File Library where they have a chance to replace a random book of any color. Picking up Philanthropic will instantly label them as "found" and trigger the server-wide message. Opening Philanthropic reveals that its contents contain scribbles that completely cover the pages. Reading Philanthropic will cause the player's screen to become slightly redder. Additionally, the player's character will say messages that are treated ingame like the messages that the Firewall NPCs in Inception Antivirus Base say. These message are typically composed of complete nonsense and unusually involve "donations" and "generosity". These messages are apparently said by someone or something named "Philanthropist" according to the chat logs. This doesn't affect the player's ability to type in chat and the effects will go away when the player respawns or Philanthropic is otherwise removed from the inventory. Sweet Treats[]"An ice cream cone that's pretty hungry. They can't really get food themself due to them just being a regular old sentient ice cream cone. You should help them! You wouldn't let your good friend starve, would you?" Takes the form of a large Software Serve with eyes and a cherry. They have a random chance of appearing in Software Sweets. When a player goes near them, they will turn to face said player and begin talking to them, ignoring any other nearby players. They will request a "sweet treat", this treat being a random food item in the Home Computer no matter if its actually sweet or not. The player will then have one minute at most to get the food and return to Sweet Treats with it. If the player returns to Sweet Treats with the food on time, the food will vanish from the player's inventory with a loud crunching noise. Sweet Treats will then thank the player and vanish. If the player fails to bring the food to Sweet Treats on time, the player will be frozen in place while a loud drone begins to play. Sweet Treats will then fly towards wherever that player is and cause them to vanish with a loud crunching noise, killing them instantly. Sweet Treats will then thank said player and vanish. Rhubarb[]"Rhubarb loves playing games. Their favorite game is hide and seek. You should start hiding." Takes the form of a disconcertingly realistic face. This face appears out of a completely black entryway. Unlike most Penobionos, you cannot find Rhubarb. Rhubarb finds you. In other words, if you have found at least one Penobiono, they have a chance of appearing behind you at any given time, with that chance getting more likely the more Penobionos you've found in the server you're in. Once the player looks behind them and Rhubarb is visible on the camera, they will begin to run towards the player, killing them on contact. It is best to fast travel somewhere else as soon as you see Rhubarb behind you if you haven't found them already. To get rid of Rhubarb permanently, rejoining the game will suffice. Notably, if someone gets killed by Rhubarb, the message will say "Rhubarb has found [Player]" in place of the usual message. (Penobiono created/image edited by FunnyGuy325) |

Penobionos that require performing a specific set of actions or going to a specific place to find them. These methods will always result in the Penobiono appearing.

Penny[]"Some sort of invisible essence that wanders around the Beta Databrawl map. They really like to draw." Takes the form of a drawing of a Program, though is described in its description as an "invisible essence". They can be found by picking up a book in the Database File Library, fast traveling to the Beta Databrawl map, going into the Memory Meadow, and opening the book. Many different drawings have been seen, though most of them involve a kittygram with eyelashes. Husk[]"It's you! Well, a clone of you anyway. Don't be fooled by their familiar appearance, they're probably not even alive." Takes the form of the character you're playing as, albeit without a face. They can be found by mining a Raw Generatorium, going to Bloaty's Burgz, and touching the strange graffiti across from it with the crystal in hand. The crystal will disappear from your inventory, with the Husk appearing shortly after. After being spawned, the Husk doesn't do anything else and just floats where it was spawned. It can be pushed around by other players. Interestingly, pushing a Husk into the Fire Pit will result in the player who pushed it dying instead, with a Husk of that player spawning in their place. Cooly[]"remember" Takes the form of a Program Chubb wearing a blue shirt and cap. They can be found in the blocked-off basement of the Coolant Refinery. In order to make them appear, you have to throw a throwable object (Data Chunk, Data Star, etc) through the boards covering the door and into the room. Once you manage to do this, Cooly will appear in the room beyond the boards. The player will then be teleported inside of the large tank outside the Refinery, with them becoming trapped there until they respawn. Note: Penobionos seem to be disabled during the current Jokebrawl event. This is being fixed.

General[]
- In case it wasn't obvious by now, all of this was an April Fools joke. None of it was real. Sorry if you fell for it and/or thought it was really cool.
- Even though the April Fools event has ended and the page has no reason to exist outside of a sandbox anymore, I'll still be updating this with new ideas. Probably.
- I actually didn't expect people to also make up Penobionos lol (Beggar, Kobold, Hydra, etc). I straight up had nothing to do with those but it was Awesome.
- Speaking of fanmade Penobionos, I MIGHT add some in the near future. Probably not now, but one day...
- I may do more with these funny little guys in the future…
Individual Penobionos[]
- This is what I think every Penobiono would be like morally, from nicest to evilest.
- Penny (Nicest, genuinely just wants to draw and have friends.)
- Philantrophic (Very skewed sense of right and wrong, but technically virtuous by its own standards.)
- Shapes (Incomprehensible hivemind, but they haven’t tried to hurt anybody.)
- Cooly (Vengeful, but nice to those that haven't earned his undying hatred.)
- Husks (Have no personality to speak of, possibly not even alive.)
- Sweet Treats (Pretends to be nice, but becomes extremely violent if they don't get fed.)
- Rhubarb (Extremely sadistic, knows where you are at all times.)
- FATHER (Not to be trusted.)
Behind the Scenes[]
- ”Penobionos” as a Word came from an old Databrawl community joke. I used it for This thing because I thought it’d be a bit funny. I didn’t come up with the word and idk who did.
- Originally, I edited the Shapes picture a few times. They didn't look very good. Fortunately, t_cerberus edited the picture And drew the Shapes And allowed me to use their edit. (thanks if you're reading this and are also t_cerberus lol)
- Originally, Penny was going to involve bringing a black book specifically to a specific spot on the map (originally the Beta Processor Palace). Then, a simple drawing of a Program would appear and you'd get the badge. The drawings didn't change and it was literally just a normal Program. Eventually, this concept became Penny and now I like them a lot more.
- Rhubarb is actually an edited version of This image.
- Additionally, they first came from an edit I made of a screenshot of Mr. Uncanny's Toy Factory. They were originally unnamed, but I yoinked their name from a message directly below said image because I liked it too much.
- Cooly was originally an OC I made as a parody/attempt at a DB version of those Mario 64 Personalized things. I still have plans for them outside of Penobiono nonsense.
- Sweet Treats is (currently) the only Penobiono I didn't edit myself. Spiderpastry edited and made the entire concept themself, I only helped with deciding what they would actually do, as well as their description.
- Philanthropic's basic concept was made by vesra_main. It was about the same as it is now, only the book contained every message the player had sent in the server, the players messages in chat would change to only use male pronouns and change every descriptive word to “morbid”, and there was no known way to spawn the book, with players who found the book never being able to find it again. I (accidentally) changed the concept to what it is now, with their permission and approval of course.
- Husk was based heavily off of the infamous husk glitch, a glitch affecting early versions of Battle Mode and Roleplay that would spawn eyeless versions of players that did nothing. The graffiti and the crystals were something added by me because I thought they were cool. Originally, they were gonna involve The Basement but I thought that'd be too on the nose.
- Shapes came from a one-off image i drew during a Penobiono related roleplay in the Discord server. They were much different than they are now, but only because they barely had any lore or anything back then. They were also one of the only penobionos to have been penobionos from the very start.
- FATHER will remain the only Unobtainable Penobiono. I prefer it that way.
- I sorta improved the whole FATHER vandalization thing. I thought it'd be a funny way to end this whole shindig.
